William Dallas “Billy” Hurst, age 92, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Jefferson Park Dandridge. He made a profession of faith at an early age and was currently a member of Community Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was a residential builder in the Morristown area for many years. After his career in construction, he was later an owner of Douglas Lake Campground in Dandridge. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Hallie Clorine “Pat” Hurst; parents, Maurice L. and Eliza Clayton “Casey” Hurst; brother, Jackie M. Hurst; son-in-law, Michael L. Bunch; and granddaughter, Jennifer Hurst Harris. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry W. and Letha Hurst; daughter, Darlene Bunch; grandchildren, Todd (Gina) Bunch, Amy (David) Gurley, and Cynthia (Marc) Stinnett; great-grandchildren, Hunter (Gabe) Stapleton, Emma Gurley, Elaina Harbin, Ethan Harbin, Connor Bunch, Cannon Bunch, David Stinnett and fiancée, Sam Hickey, Caroline Harbin, Natalie Harbin, and Drew Gurley; great-great grandchild, Henry Stapleton; sisters-in-law, Mary Johnson and Laura Glenn; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Jefferson Park Dandridge and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 25th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services with Rev. Dennis Caldwell officiating.
